If you are running an eCommerce store, there’s a good chance you are using Shopify. It is by far the most popular eCommerce platform on the planet, and for a good reason. However, manually uploading your products one at a time can be pretty tedious. Additionally, as humans, we are prone to errors, and one misplaced product can wreak havoc on your sales.

That’s where Alloy Automation comes in. Sara Du, CEO and co-founder of Alloy Automation, created the company to help eCommerce store owners automate their product uploads. With Alloy Automation, you can quickly and easily upload your products using a simple CSV file, save time, and reduce errors.

In this article, we’ll look at the company’s owner Sara Du, her background, how she became a leader in the eCommerce space, and what makes Alloy Automation stand out from the competition.

Who is Sara Du?

Sara Du is the CEO and co-founder of Alloy Automation, which helps store owners automate their product uploads.  She has a background in computer science and electrical engineering, which gives her the technical expertise to run Alloy Automation. Additionally, her years of experience in eCommerce make her well-equipped to help storeowners streamline their product uploads.

Sara Du Early Life and Education

Sara Du grew up in Georgia, a non-Asian state in the US. She was born to immigrant parents, and her father owned a small business. Growing up in Georgia, Sara was aware of her difference from other students. She later moved to LA for her high school. Here, Sara got to appreciate her culture and background more.

Sara wrote essays on Chinese history and culture in high school and was also involved in Asian film projects. The essays she wrote earned her a scholarship to Harvard. At Harvard, Sara met different people who inspired her values and who she was. She later dropped Harvard and landed a job at Snap Inc. as a computer engineer.

How Did Computer Engineering Begin?

Before the thought of coding came across, Sara Du was aiming to be a professional swimmer since her second grade. However, at sixteen, her ideal dream to become a professional swimmer was shattered when she realized her most significant limitation was her height.

After coming across a C++ book in a bookstore, she grew interested in computers and started coding in her spare time. From this interest, Sara got fully involved in open-source iOS. In the field, Sara interacted with exciting people that have shaped her current views on business, technology, and life. She landed projects like DoNotPay, which were in their early stages and grew to be a big success.

How Did Alloy Automation Begin?

Alloy Automation is a partnership between Sara Du and Gregg, who worked on an agency full time. The two met through an open-source developers’ community where they were both working on their independent projects. They began to talk about their projects and realized that there was an opportunity in the eCommerce automation space, which led them to start Alloy Automation together.

The Alloy idea was born when the two were doing some jobs for their influencers. The two would create codes that automatically uploaded pictures and descriptions in their Shopify stores. This led to them realizing that there was a bigger market for automation, and they launched Alloy Automation together in 2019.

What Makes Alloy Automation Outstanding from the Rest?

Using a drag and drop interface, Alloy Automation has unique features that make it stand out from the competition. Alloy’s multi-channel platform lets you upload products to multiple eCommerce platforms at once. This cuts down on your work time by half.

Another feature is called “machine learning”, which helps store owners create categories based on their products’ attributes and keywords. Additionally, the new “marketplace of workflow templates” feature will allow Alloy users to send SMS for abandoned cart recovery automatically.

What is Sara’s Morning Routine?

Sara’s morning routine is a simple one! She naturally wakes up between 6:30 and 7 am. She then indulges in a quick home workout to keep her in shape. Afterwards, Sara takes her breakfast (Athletic Greens and a Cold drink.) She then does her skincare routine, and she is ready for the day!

Does Sara Work on Weekends?

Yes, the Alloy CEO works on the weekends. She likes to co-work with friends at a coffee shop. She also uses this time to catch up with her friends. Afterwards, Sara goes to the museum or takes a walk. This gives her some downtime and a break from work.

How Did Sara Du Become a Leader in Her Role?

Sara Du has been a leader in her role because of her ability to code and understand business and the market. Her skill set allows her to see the technical aspects of a company and how it can be improved. Additionally, Sara can communicate with her team and clients effectively, which helps move projects forward smoothly.

Sara can also provide insights and guidance that helps the company move forward in their mission to automate eCommerce. In this role, Sara has helped the company grow rapidly, and they have been able to automate many eCommerce stores. Sara’s skills and experience are invaluable to the company, and she will continue to lead them in their mission for years to come.

Humility has also helped Sara become a leader in her role. Alloy Automation is unique because the team has a sense of humility. They don’t consider themselves as “the best” or “the smartest,” but they are constantly learning and trying to improve their product. This allows them to be open-minded about feedback, which helps make the product better for everyone.

Conclusion

Sara Du is the co-founder and CEO of Alloy Automation. The company automates eCommerce stores so that store owners can focus on their business, not spending time manually uploading products. Since its launch in 2019, they have been able to automate many different Shopify stores across many platforms.

Sara has also made a name for herself in the industry. Her skills and experience bring a unique perspective to her team at Alloy, allowing them to move forward with their mission of automating eCommerce stores across different platforms. Sara will continue leading Alloy Automation into the future as they work towards automation!
